Very nice - are those military pictures by Munro Orr by any chance?

I don't know. I can't decipher the signature. They are originals and were painted around the 1920s/30s. Would that fit in with the artist you mentioned?

Yes very much so - died in 1955 and was a famous illustrator for many classic children's books: Arabian Nights, Grimms, Treasure Island and so on. I had a set of Dickens lithographs that look so similar in style.

He typically printed editions on dark grey or green paper, in lithograph with strong colours and outlines that look like they could be painted - there is a thickness to the colours if that makes sense.

From a distance they do look like Orr.

Ask the Old Master to have a squint at them MJ? Pictures and prints is his 'thing' (Apart from building and woodwork!)

Thought you might...

The exchange freezer gets a new home this week, too!

Great - both ways.

I'm so glad that the sofa has a new lease of life, it was time it left here, but I really wanted it to be used & loved.

Really nice - like your taste.
Was looking at some of your bits of furniture too - very nice.

Not that Im coveting you understand.
But there are no nice junk shop type places nearby for me to buy 'real' furniture. Ill need to start going to auctions.
