We have just got 4 new birds wh have just started laying

Silver Link, Light Sussex, Warren & a Bluebell.

We were getting 4 eggs a day but production is slacking. Should we take away the kitchen scraps so all they have to eat is Layers Pelletts or should we vary their diet a bit?

Chickens do slow down a bit after the Spring madness but as yours are young birds, they should still be laying well.
Cut out most of the treats so the pellets are their main food and see what happens.

i went to clean out and collect eggs today and for the first time since i have had chickens there are no eggs!
they have had a few leftovers of bread and lettuce leaves but in addition to their pellets.
i suspect the hybrids may be slacking as they are now past 2 years old but i have had a stern word with the younger light sussex and the newest brahma!
i wouldnt mind if they were thinking of sitting on some eggs.
maybe i have been spoilt by the hybrids popping eggs out every day for so long.
maybe a few curry spices shaken in a threatening manner is required!
