I'm rearing goats for meat for my dissertation - comparing the KO%, meat yield and meat quality from dairy and meat goats and their crosses - but I need a few more to make my results 'statistically significant'.

The info I need is; type, breed or cross, sex (entire male, wether or female), age at slaughter, live weight at slaughter, carcasse weight, weight of individual cuts - or at least the leg joints of each carcasse (as that's what I've found varies the most between the breeds).

Ideally I need all the info by Christmas so I can put it all together.

My email is kirsty@hensforhomes.co.uk if anyone can help, thanks

I have got some dairy x angoras that'll be going for meat but not before Christmas I shouldn't think.
They were born April and May so more likely about February or March next year unless I get really fed up with them jumping out of the pen as soon as I turn my back.

I have a few kids going this year - they are:

2 x 75% Boer wethers born Feb 2013 (mums are nubian cross)

1 x 87.5% Boer wether born Feb 2013 (a bit of angora there somewhere going by the 'interesting' top coat he is wearing!)

2 x 50% Boer wethers born Feb 2013 (well, 1.5 really as one is very runty and will probably stay with us over the winter - they are Guernsey cross Boer)

1 x 93.7% Boer wether born April 2013

When I send them really depends on how they grow - I have not been supplementing their diet much - just natural browsing plus hay over the last two weeks due to the dry weather but I am just going to buy in some formulated feed next week to help chivvy them along a bit. I do intend for them to go by Christmas so more than happy to give you that data I also sold a 50% nubian x boer locally and can ask the new owner for her stats when she sends him off too
