Please can someone help me? I'm creating an Excel document and I want to set a date in a cell, Say E3 (05-01-2015) and then in the cell underneath, E4 have it pick up the date in cell E3 and then add 30 days to it to give me the next date. I then want to repeat the process for the rest of 2015, so E5, E6 and so on.

Can anyone help with the formula?

Thanks.

put the date in the first cell E3 - if necessary go to format and get the date arranged the way you like - if, for example, it was arranged the American way for dates - this might not be necessary

go to the cell underneath E4 and do a sum (E3+30)

it should come up with the date 30 days on

then highlight E4 and put your curser over the bottom right corner of the cell and, holding the left button of the mouse, drag the cells down for as many repeats as you want, when you let go it should fill in with the dates

Thank you Nicky, that's worked a treat. I was over complicating it by including DATE in my formula.

Can you do the opposite? i.e. put a two dates in and subtract one from the other to give you the number of days between?

It's something I've always done by hand but it would help to be able to automate it.

yes - just do it as a sum - in this example E4-E3
