There are winter flowering snowdrops. I have two: Galanthus nivalis regina-olgae blooms in late October, and 'Potter's Prelude' starts flowering in early December.

Here's Queen Olga's snowdrop, which waits until Spring to send up leaves.

And this is 'Potter's Prelude' which, even though later flowering, does produce flowers and foliage simultaneously.

Regardsles when they appear I do love snowdrops.

Saw the first bluebell leaves pushing through yesterday. Later than I would expect with the mild winter we have had, but perhaps they didn't want to get wet.

There were many snowdrops of several varieties flowering in the gardens of Merton College in Oxford last weekend.
