I've had my car serviced today and to comply with the warranty the spark plugs have been replaced. As I don't drive that much the plugs have only done a fraction of their useful miles and I've kept the old ones. Now, can they be reused or just melted down? I grew up when you used to take the plugs out, clean them, adjust the gap and reuse them but today you just seem to replace them. It's worth asking for the old ones as they do tell you how well the engine is running as anyone with a Haynes manual will tell you.

They're Champion RC10YC4 with only 7k miles if anyone wants a set of 4.

The right plugs, in good condition, etc, etc are vital to efficient running of a petrol engine.

If yours really are fine, why not just wrap them in an oily rag and put them in a *labelled* box on a shelf in the garage - all ready for your first 'out of warranty' service... ???

(And tell Bugs they don't take much room, really. And they could save a fair few quid...)

I've still got a set from a previous car that I no longer have. I jujst wondered if there would be a reconditioned market for them at all, not after making any money but the may save someone a few pence.
