Price is not everything.

It needs to be good value.

Not just in cash terms but in the use of resources.

I forecast that most of those that do eventually get made will not be in use 12 months later.

a, because its price was to low so too many corners were cut & they fail

b, it fails to do what is claimed

It can only produce 0.1 watt even if some one was there 24/7 re arming it it will still only produce 2.4Wh in a 24 hour period. A human can produce about 100 watts for short periods via a cycle & would only have to pedal for 90 seconds to make the same amount of energy. I bet thats less time that it takes to re arm the gravity light 48 times.

PS you should look at just what can be made for a pittance now days. Things that get sold in shops for say £50 actually cost less than a few pounds to make. Most of the money charged is profit for each leg of its journey to the shop.

Unlike some people, who I believe are either jealous or have some kind of commercial interest in slamming the gravity light, I think that what you have posted here is also an excellent idea. Their business model is fantastic - and the product works. Anything that helps rid the world of kerosene lamps is certainly a step in the right direction.

As that is obviously aimed at me I will reply.

I have no commercial interest is any form of light gravity or other wise powered.

Why would I be jealous of a product that is rubbish?

My main gripe is that they spent two years looking for money to support this when anyone with a calculator can plainly see that unless they up the weight (to more than a person can lift), the height (limited by the room height) & its strength (limited by cost) then it wont provide anything like the amount of light needed let alone be a source of power to recharge items like they claim.
