I'm sure they do. Goat meat is very nice. Do you think you'll ever taste it?

Deffo, the kids came with me to the abattoir when when we picked up the 1st batch of lambs we sent to slaughter, they know where meat comes from, and they know that we don't keep animals unless we're going to eat them

Didn't Kirstyfern keep Boers? She's not been around for a while, but it might be worth PMing her. I think she's out your way - ie, further north than I am.

I think she gave up, I'll PM her

Can I just say how much this thread has brightened an otherwise rather grey day?

bless them - goats are brilliant, and taste fantastic. we have just finished kidding our boer x dairy goats and are in Sussex. I suspect we will have some ready to sell next month. Are you after boys or girls? PM me if interested, I had a lad come down from Essex last year to buy some to raise for the table.

I would really love to keep goats - dairy for the milk - but is a huge commitment

Seeing as I work blinking 72 hr days I guess it'll be her, or her staff (don't feel sorry for my wife, she encouraged her)
