Soaked for 36 hrs then in propagator on saturday (in general purpose compost). 12 'seeds' in each half seed tray.
About half have germinated after 4 days.

Excellent.

How are yours doing now Chickenlady?

(I'm still debating what to do - I definitely haven't room in the ground and compost for big pots is so expensive).

They've come up - all 12 of them - in separate modules. Look a bit like coarse grass at the moment.
I've still got them in the conservatory - with minimal heating.

The nuts have germinated and I have repotted them - so far so good.
They do seem to grow rather fast - anyone any idea how big they might get?

Assuming we get a decent harvest here's some recipes including them:

https://tigernuts.com/tigernuts.recipes.html

Some odd spelling but worth a look. I had thought of grinding them up and seeing how they would add/detract as a sauce ingredient (especially in curries/laksa).

I like the look of some of those! I do hope they are successful.

They've arrived - they're tiny! Not sure what I was expecting, but not chickpeas

How do I soak them? I've never done soaking before.

I put them in a jar/cup with enough water to cover them (plus and inch) and put them somewhere warm (next to our boiler). 36 hours is plenty of time - then just plant them as normal.

Mine are still growing well...I'm going to plant them up into large pots this weekend and put them in the cold frame. They're still in the conservatory at the moment. They're about twice the size as when I put the pic up. I'm keeping them quite moist.

Hmm. Maybe I need to bring them inside. I put them straight outside in a south facing position, but not in a cold frame or anything.

Four of them have actually come on. :phew:

They are about ready to move out of their modules now. What sized pots did you go for in the end? How big are they now?

I've got them in the ground in the poly, they're nearly 2ft high and several new shoots around each one.
