Some time ago I finally got around to completing Mrs JB's studio. For her 40th I gave her a choice of a residential art course or a studio. She chose the studio.

Three large double glazed windows were 99pence from ebay and the door was about 20 from ebay. and that was what decided the size. Built, insulated, double skinned, wired in and lit for about 2500. Which is less than a bare shell from most of the commercial suppliers. On the whole I think it worked quite well. I need to add gutters and barge boards and redo the roofing as I had to get the felt on while it was wet and the front door needs a weather seal at its bottom but it means that Mrs JB can go and play. So she's made the inside like this;

and just to show that I'm being fair everyone now gets one shed each. (debris is from repairs I was making to mine)

(This post has nothing to do with anything I'm just avoiding work ;-) )

Pah. I have shed envy now. I'm going to go with buying a second hand one and revamping it, I think.

"Buy" one? What you should do is spend a small fortune on tools to build your own shed which you then use for nothing other than to store the tools you used to build it.

Saw one of those in B&Q at the weekend and said the exact same thing to Mrs C.

Great work there JB. I bet you've scored some real brownie points.
