Bees contribute £651 million to the UK economy a year, £150 million more than the Royal Family brings in through tourism. |
They also sell newspapers... |

IMHO 651 million is a conservative estimate.
It only takes into account the food bees pollinate that we put directly into our mouths.
How many hundreds of thousands tonnes of nitrates extra would farmers have to spread on the fields if bees didn't pollinate clover flowers?
As for the other Royal family I thought they cost us almost as much as they make.
Bees work for free. |

The claim that the royal family bring in tourist revenue is untrue and irrelevant. Even VisitBritain, the national tourist agency, can't find any evidence for it.
The estimated total annual cost of the monarchy is £299.4m, around nine times the official figure published by the royal household
Perhaps a better headline would be
"Bees are hardworking creatures essential to the British economy unlike the Royal Family who are irrelevant (and who are Britain's biggest family of benefit claimants)." |

If you're going to quote figures or make claims say where you're getting the data from to support your claims.
