I'm visiting a friend in Bangor and he's struggling along with a very old PC and I thought it worth an ask if anyone has one a bit less old that they might want to get rid of?

He's running Mint V12 at the moment and I'm sure you don't need me to tell you how out of date that is...

Can I get back to you on that? He's not best good at learning new things, and doesn't readily ask for help so we're probably better off sticking to a system he's familiar with.

That said, I have another friend, similarly struggling...

Are you sure that's enough? That'll barely cover postage.

I spent at leasdt 2 days trying to install win 10 then mint, another day getting win 7 reinstalled. There's no amount of money that can get me that part of my life back. If they can afford more than a tenner then that's great.

I'll tell him £20... but it'll have to wait 'till pay day.

It seems that he wants nothing to do with Windows. Funny chap.

I can find it a home if you're keen to be rid of it, but meanwhile, we're back to the drawing board for the man in Bangor...
