roland can untangle bacon from a fenn

innocent but clever

i wonder how he will cope with a dried duck dog treat double pinned with antique dissecting pins to the roof of the box of doom positioned over the trap

the line between neophobe and made a never seen it mistake is the interesting thing with rat assassinations

general thinning is general thinning, hunting a named one is a bit moby dick sometimes

eat the sammison's larder and my wrath is boundless

pity firearms are off the menu due to the location, i have had 3 good pistol opportunities if i had one about my person at all times just in case

i might have a word with my semi tame gunsmiths and find out if a welrod type thing for close rat work exists and is it quiet enough not to upset anyone as well as being legal and effective for reaction shooting fast targets at a few meters max range
if there is i do not know of it, maybe we need to make one jackal style

i could do all the criteria except non fac legal/lethal to rat

the blow pipe and poison has quite an appeal, would they notice if i dug up a bit of their aconite root in the local park?

strange observation, it does not seem too scared of me as a presence unless i interact with it in some way

maybe cos it got away with tripping me up when i trod on him while he was trying to scamper

the PCP is short and customized but ideal for 30M, far too big to amble round with it fandangling from the one point sling at all times

a derringer full of dust shot would be ideal if slightly problematic in the uk

antiques are also problematic if functioning, or indeed failing to function in interesting ways, not least that the delay between move the trigger and it going bang is quite a distance for a rat doing ratty things even if it is unaware of its peril, leading squiggly things is well tricky

sleepless mangle will do to be going on with, it just seems a pity to miss opportunities

traps never sleep, and roland is no more.

the high placed bait, so as ratty has to stand on its back legs on the treadle to get the food, is effective and quite a tidy kind kill

i hope he was the only one trying to move in, i will re set once it is light

glad he is gone, i will soon know if there are more but i have only seen this one so far during this visitation

Glad you got it. Hopefully no more and the Sammisons can get in their winter stores in safety.

the bait had no further activity, fenn stood down

the smallest sammison is pottering about happily, a good sign

long tail mice are a canary in the mine for rats, they are no bother and very charming, some seeds and a minder is a good deal for both sides of this deal, i can spot and track, but they are very aware and act like it, if you know them they can explain rather well
