Being very thick here, whats the easiest way to generate a banner for possible inclusion on the banners bit of the site?

Doesn't look any worse than my attempt for Parkers Preserves

I'd lose the photos, they're too small. (Because of the size of the banner rather than because of something that's your fault.) I'd go for an image of something like the silver brooch against the wool of the stole and/or Gareth's silver-bound horn ( as it were.).

You can't build a sales empire on ' no worse than Tahir's stab at an ad banner.'

I'd also go for a more positive colour as the background to the text.

Tried a better colour, but in paint it ate into my text. Will have another go

No-one's using blue on blue which is surprisingly easy to read and would stand out as different from everybody else's ads.

Have you tried using PowerPoint ?
I was pleasantly surprised by what it could do when I had to produce a full-colour poster

I'd not used it for that before.
Start with a blank slide. Easy to import pix / use text boxes and change the font / font colour / background fill. And drag and drop them around.

Ad text is definitely better against a background colour. However, text in the Paint version seems clearer. The close-up of the brooch on the stole shows up nicely, but the pic of Gareth looks a bit far off to me. Have you got any pix of your hats at closer quarters, and with less white space in the photo ? Or could you crop Gareth at the shoulders and make the image bigger ?
