What is it like inside and how do you use it? Is it courgette-like or firmer (pumpkinny?)?

Does it only grow on white t-shirts, or is that just for best results?

That first one reminded me of Nancy Blackett from Arthur Ransomes 'winter holiday'.

It's firmer than a courgette but not as hard as a pumpkin, it's peeled, chunked and cooked (seeds n'all) in curries of various types.

And it's no so much the white t shirt but the camo shorts that make the difference in my experience...

BTW if anyone wants to try them next year give me a shout in Feb. Mum gets loads of seed, there are several varieties, big round, small round, long, curly long.

They need LOADS of heat, light, muck and space.

I thought it could be the extra light reflected onto the squash by the white of the cloth.

Did you grow them in your tunnel or outdoors?

They are, the missus is taking that one over to my mums today, we'll be eating it tonight. We're excited.
