This is an email I've just received:

Quote:
I have difficulty reading since I had a stroke. Under View I tried to enlarge your font size but it wouldn't let me do it. I cannot read your site!! So frustrating! Can you tell me how to do it or why your site won't allow it?

Does anyone have the same issues?

And what can I say to the lady Jema?

I've just tried using view to change the text size and it worked for me.

If you use IE then you cannot change the font size much, if you use Firefox then you can.

I think the site has been optimised for non-MS stuff but I bet many people use IE.

We have both so happy to point out any problems.

We should take this seriously, we hard code font sizes, or rather the font sizes are hard code in the template css we based the site on.

I think we should apologise profusely, and say that we are about to embark on a redesign exercise and will deal with this, and we need to make sure when we design round the new logo, we do deal with it.

I indicated that we'd look into it and advised her that it worked in FF

Another datapoint for you.
IE 5.1.7 under Mac OS9.2.2 and Text Zoom (on the View menu) works fine...

Aren't there websites that will check your site for you...something like netbobby is lurking in my mind....(I feel like one of Mrs Nesbitt's GSD's ).

Assume you designer/tech chaps know about the Alertbox/Jacob Neilson usability site. I think that has plenty of links to useful info.

Haven't noticed anything personally as I keep fonts as small as poss to see as much as I can, and don't know anybody who could help check.

From what everyone else has written it seems to be internet explorer that's the problem.

Thank you so much. It certainly works and my computer friend says Firefox is greatly respected in computing circles. I can enjoy the site now. Bless you,
