Well it's Microsoft patch Wednesday and it's a record of 13 in one release.

Most look worthy of loading, but it's going to take time to test all of them. I'd go for loading one at a time and give it a reboot between patches or one big hit and hope. I've been going for about 24hrs no with no issue, but you might have some problems this month. I'll see if I can get something up on two3five.com ASAP

After the download, this tool runs once to check your computer for infection by specific, prevalent malicious software (including Blaster, Sasser, and Mydoom) and automatically helps remove any variants found. After it runs, the tool is deleted from your computer. A new version of the tool will be offered every month. If you want to manually run the tool on your computer, you can download a copy from the Microsoft Download Center or run an online version from microsoft.com. In addition to using this tool, you should use an up-to-date antivirus product to help protect your computer from other malicious software

interesting!

It means Microsoft are finally clearing up the mess that was caused by a number of viruses. This could go really well, but we'll have to see.

Watch out for the .NET component update as I think it took out one of my machines today. Only a worry if you run servers so Mrs N can calm down from the cold sweat of worry

The .Net should not effect home users, I suspect that Hotmail are patching their servers in rotation so you might see some issues.

Outlook issue I'll see what I can see on other boards as can't see any problems. If it's outbound only looks like ISP problems

Nope don't think that. Patches are a pain in the arse which why companies pay my morgage to look at them. Only probelm is that there are so many combinations that advise in an open forum is difficult
