Fair point . We're lucky though, we've got a local bookshop and a good second-hand bookshop in town. Between them most stuff seems to be covered really.

I still prefer the original - though my copy of Self-Sufficiency cost me the princely sum of £2.95 in 1974 when I met John Seymour at a show in London. He signed the book and I remember asking him how to make camembert and good goats' cheese!

I paid £13 for my copy but that was from a local bookshop, a local branch of a chain maybe but still nonetheless a local bookshop. OTOH I understand and give in to the lure of cheap books (in fact amazon have reached the point where they spontaneously send me free gifts! )

Picked up a copy for a tenner in WH Smiths a month ago & saw some copies still in there today, still a tenner.

Great book, lots of advice.
