Can anyone tell me how to turn my spam filter on - I've got Norton on my pc. It was installed by a computer chap, however he didnt put the spam filter on and its been about 2 months now since I first asked him to call and sort it out for me.... I'm getting fed up with deleting about 100 spam emails every day from both my pc and my laptop

Thanks.

My email account does it for me. I use Yahoo and there is an option called preferences on the main page. You go in through there.

the norton spam thing you have to pay for. Did you ? Its an extra on top of the cost of the antivirus.

Personally, I would use thunderbird and train it, combine with whatever your isp offers. And dont put your email address anywhere on the web.
It is too late now anyway you are obviously on all the lists. Is it a big deal for you to change your email address ?

dont do chain letters.

My Thunderbird antispam is quite well train lately, very little real email gets marked as junk.

Still way too much of the stuff though, don't know how much worse spam can get before email is totally stuffed globally.

Norton may wel be turned off to allow you to use your PC. A few versions ago they had stuffed up a cab file and it killed PCs and I believe McAfee had the same issue not so long ago.

When he installed the Norton I asked about the spam filter and he looked at something and said yes it was there..... well I cant find it!!

I dont really want to change my email address.... I just thought that it must be there somewhere but I just cant find it.

Perhaps I will just have to nag at the computer chap some more.....

Thanks for all the advice.
