An email I just received warning about new virus:

May be true may be not. In fact reading the text I very strongly expect this is a chain email phony warning, designed simply to propagate the warning.

Have said that, a .pps file is a potentially dangerous file type. A malformed file could concievably launch a virus. So personally I would never open such a file, unless I knew who had created it and why.

Not had any emails as discribed, but a lot of phish emails claiming to be from ebay and paypal in the last few days. I went into my ebay account via the normal route (not clicking on shortcut in email) and there was nothing wrong with my account.
