also if u still want things that u did like from vista mate let me know i 99.9 % will work on xp to apart prom areo glass look u can have sidebar with widgets , screen switch etc etc just let me know they are all freeware so no worry there and yes the only reason vista was made was so Microsoft would have control of your pc not you

It is certainly heading that way - it used to be noticeably faster than IE but that's no longer the case, and I suspect it takes up more memory too. I think it has lost the "less is more" ethos that it used to have.

the slow down is due to ie7 and other internet tools(lol) as microsoft call them that are put there to do just that it has been proven many times that is why they went to court remember lol people do forget so quick

So IE is the cause of FF getting a bit of middle-age spread ?? Why not compare FF2 against FF0.98 on Linux ... my guess is the old beta is faster!

lol trust me mate i know what u are saying but it is not correct i use linux on a day to day basis as im a linux dev and i can tell u thiss is wrong and we were talking about windows verswion not linux anyway . but as u bring it up try running mozilla and ie7 on latest version on linux and u will see what i mean ie7 opens the same day u click on the icon the same with mozilla there is no speed diff , but on windows mozilla and ie4 run like dogs , unless u know your way round regedit

I'm running Firefox off my Ubuntu CD and the pages are loading faster then you can blink. When I first got Firefox on my Vista Basic it was fast now its starting to get slower. Still faster then IE7 however I have to use IE7 downloader on XP because dumb vista put the file somewhere where my CD burner couldnt find it.

You Mac users are going to have to be a lot more careful! I'm not very observant but even I can detect a hint of smugness!

But don't you think that Macs are much better since they switched to a Linux-like OS?
