cheers folks! I do hope you like it, it was a year of our lives writing that.

I think we might have a competition and give out some free copies. Also, it should be available at eco logic books soon hopefully for a cut price. On top of that I am thinking of having a few copies that get passed between people, having to give it up after 2 weeks or something. Not sure about that yet.

Oh and happy birthday lottie.

Bookcross it? There's a UK Bookcrossing Yahoo group where you could organise a 'Ring' to pass it around. Lots of downsizer-minded types there.

Andy, is do you as an author get any more per book depending on where it's sold or do you get the same cut if it's sold by Amazon of a local book shop?

There are 16 pages in our contract dedicated just to royalties. It is a rather tricky business. It is also different for each author. Anyway for us we get a percentage of the RRP as long as it is sold for over 51% or the RRP. This is called wholesale royalties I believe, some authors can get a little ripped off with this as they get a percentage of the retail price instead of the RRP. We have a good agent!

I would certainly prefer people to buy the book from a local book shop 2 of my favorite shops have closed down during writing the book and a 3rd is about to follow!

Andrea - yes book crossing it is a good idea, I should have thought of that. obvious really.

I know its in the smallholder theme but surely you should be encoraging your potential customers to BUY their own copy? There are not that many people (compared to the population) into smallholding.

True, but not everyone can afford it. I also want lots of people to read it and I know that there were times when I could not afford to buy books that I really wanted. I am only talking about one or two copies going around. Nowt wrong with supporting the local library either.

The book is not just aimed at small holders in fact as me and Dave live in the middle of Bristol it is written with City folk in mind too.

It's nice to see it 'partnered' with John Seymour's bible on the Amazon link. That must be something to make you feel really proud.

Well I would.

Well done you guys!

Definitely, in fact I read an advance review calling it a modern version of John Seymour's book that was also extremely flattering. I have my copy in the living room and I keep looking at it and smiling. It still does not seem real.
