Got my first recorder from Duck Son & Pinker in Cirencester when I were a wee lass. Shops like that just don't exist anymore

Does the Swindon branch in Fleet Street still exist Penny?
I'll have a look when I'm in town today.

It would be nice to know they're still there

The Swindon branch was there until they sold the downstairs to make it into a sandwich type place and now it's an awful tiny upstairs place with not much in it.

There is another music shop there on the same road as all the estate agents in town but I can't remember the name.

I want a piano

If you really want one I'll get you the number of the secondhand furniture place in town. He gets offered them all the time when people are retiring and moving to smaller houses. We got ours through him and just paid thirty quid for him using his van and helping to shift it.

I'll take you up on that when we have finished the front room. The plastering is still in progress here

I used to get dragged there by Mum and my musical sister . I'm the non musical one and would much rather have gone to a garden centre

Commercial Road, and it's called Holmes music centre.
Even the upstairs bit of Duckson and Pinker is closed now.

Result!

Sean - good suggestion about the second hand furniture thing. We'll be in the market for a piano next year and I'll bear that in mind when looking.
