I've got a leather apron if anyone wants to borrow it. Trouble is, it's impregnated with rancid tallow and aluminium dust from the fettling shop of the foundry where I used to work, so it's rather niffy. Not recommended for, er, indoor use.

First thing I learnt to sew at school. Psychologically brain damaged against sewing aprons due to ruler on back of leg for bad hemming.

I love making aprons and often make them for gifts. The last one I made was a full 'victorian' style one for my little niece to wear when she's here with me. She looks adorable in it. I'm in too, now to decide on what material to use and what pattern to make.........??

Thanks---saved them---much more elegant than mine hacked out of old curtains using an old apron as a pattern with a big curved patch stitched on the front as a pocket to accumulate the debris I collect
