Thanks to the thieves who stole my breeding boys last night, I have a choice - either I give up for the year - or I ask if anyone can help me to restock and move on. I need to replace my Light Sussex, Cuckoo Maran and my (oh so beautiful) Red Sussex cockerels. I don't want show quality, I'm more into big utility boys. If anyone can help, please let me know. dont give up! its way too early...maybe try the utility register in practical poultry magazine? even if you could loan a boy just to get some eggs in your incto be going on with?

Horrible! Actually Im asking OH to put padlocks on the doors of my sheds now. This is getting (and will continue) to be too frequent. The next thing will be sheep rustling (actually, surprised that this hasnt been done). If you get new birds what are you going to do to avoid them being taken?

We already have padlocks on the pounds out in the field - last time they brought bolt cutters, this time they just smashed the door down.

They cut or disconnect the electric fencing (good for the pigs - not) and leave everything open when they leave - just in case mr fox would like to finish the job!

We have no electrics or lights in the field and keep a low profile - what more can we do - any suggestions welcome.

Maybe you would be better leaving restocking for a while? I know it hurts on many levels. Could you find an alternative location?
