I know there are some creative soap-makers but these are amazing...

Looks like they are all made from a commercial 'melt and pour' base. Not 'real' soap making! But they are fun, except for the poor little hands which remind me of the gruesome body part statues of her children that Queen Victoria used to collect!

I liked the leaves agree it looks like melt and pour- I have mixed feelings about the stuff but there is no doubt you can do very pretty things with it

I like the leaves, a nice idea as one leaf would probably do one wash, not soap mess in the dish and lovely for visiters. Very clever what can be done, a bit like with wax but would only buy the leaves if I was feeling luxerious. My nan used to use Bromley Lemon soap when I was young, they sell it in the old chemist, bought back lovely memories.

Interesting designs, but more interesting to get into the "real" soap-making starting from base. There are some good sites where you can buy different moulds to create your own soaps without resorting to melt and pour bases.

I had a bit of a phase buying commercial soap moulds, but I found them fairly hard to use reliably. It might be that I make hot process, so the shrinkage isnt as great as cold process as it cures, but I always had the devil of a job to get the stuff out of the moulds. Ought to have another go I suppose, got all the moulds still sat, but most of my batches now I just cast as a slab and cut up with a knife afterwards

I used those flexible ice cube moulds to make little soap fishes. That was fun. I must make some more soap sometime, it was good fun. I've got masses of chocolate moulds, some of which are probably due for re-use.
