Having had a week at Grandma's in an Eglu...
Our three girls have returned to relative freedom.

Two tooks a day or so to be back into a routine of five a week....however the other one seems to have gone off laying all together.....

Should we be worried (it's been a week now)?

Or is this par for the course, and nature will sort itself out sooner or later....

Other than the lack of eggs, she seems herself, up to all her old tricks etc etc!

Thoughts please.

Only time will tell Pete. It takes very little to knock chickens off lay. console yourself that she's having a rest and will hopefully start to lay when the other two decide to have a rest.

We thought all ours were off laying (2 eggs in three days) until over the last few days we have found 6 eggs in the nettle patch, one in the hay and 12 in the flower bed . We recently got 2 POL's and I don't think the old girls like them.

Could your hen be laying away?

I shall send the children on a treasure hunt later!!!

However my 6 yr old son, refuses to go outside when the PipSqueak the one who's off laying is around..

She keeps chasing him, and unfortunately pecked him on the eyelid She has also grabed a piece of hamburger from on the barbeque, and taken a chunk out of an ice cream that he was holding!!!

Catch 22 really as when he runs down the garden screaming, the hens take quite an interest in him!!!

Maybe we'll lock her inside whilst he's searching!

I have one who hasn't laid a thing for a couple of months. She's not egg bound, she's not moulting, she's perfectly healthy - although her eggs were always a bit strange.

My girls have cottoned on to the fact that we know they are laying in the flower bed - now one had opted for the bag of hay in the wood shed and the others, the nettle patch in the sheep field - at least the dog can't nick them from in there!

Sounds like fake eggs could be useful in the flowerbed.
