Well, not much of a claim to fame but I was at the recording when he was first on it. Nice chap but I'm amazed he was asked back. Perhaps he has a good PR team?

Doubt he was hired for his incisive wit. More like a buffoon to laugh at, or, as you say, a good PR team and he's got something to plug.
