I just found a magnum I forgot I had... but doesn't quite compare to 40 bottles now does it... And yes how exactly do you forget that many bottles????

The key is to ferment in 5 gallon batches, so you end up trying to think where the heck can I stash all the bottles and since you never run out, 3 years later when the housework rota gets round to that nook again....

Ah, you have to do housework. That explains it. I am forever losing booze. I deliberately squirrel it away for some occasion or other, and promptly forget all about it. It's a lovely surprise when you find it!
