We shot five woodcock yesterday PM in a walk round with a few friends. All of the birds were fit and healthy with lots of fat. However we have decided not to shoot any on Saturday but concentrate on the cock pheasants. It's not necessarily the snow that causes the problems but the frozen ground and it doesn't take long for woodcock to lose condition.
