These were two of the three lambs slaughtered before Christmas Sadly the other was too badly cut up from skinning).
They were washed (on the wool programe) then laid out and salted till I was ready to work on them.
After soaking I cleaned them up as best as I could ( I should have let them soak for longer it would have been easier) then they were left in a bath of 20 ltr water, 1Kg of salt and 250ml of battery acid for 48hrs.
They were then rinsed in fresh water and spun dry in the washing machine.
As they were drying I used a dog comb to tease out the wool.
A bit of stretching as they dried made them nice and supple.
I wouldn´t put a baby on them but as wall hangings or a floor rug they look very well.

Thank you. Pleased with the way they turned out.
I´ll take the white one up to the farmer I got the lamb off (plus 130€) this evening. He wants it for his Mercedes MTrac 1000 tractor.

They look lovely
What type of salt do you use?
Could you wash them in fabric softener now?
I have 2 goats going off next week so hoping to get 2 skins back from them to do...

If you wash them with hair conditioner, the soften up quite a lot.
