I've been lusting after an Accuracy International rifle for quite a while now and it's one of those things I know won't come my way unless I fall into a lot money.

Last night at the club someone turns up with one, he was wanting to fine tuning some cartridge formulations and he graciously allowed me to fire off his last 3 rounds at a 100m target.

I was stunned by the accuracy of this rifle, far in excess of my expectations. The results speak for themselves, target is close to actual size...

They look to be around £3k + VAT, perhaps a bit excessive for deer stalking in a small woodland. Are there any similar UK made rifles?

They're made in the UK, based in Portsmouth. £4.5 k is nearer the mark plus around another £2k for a decent scope. Serious stuff and out of my league financially.

For deer stalking there are a great many makes to choose from and much cheaper. AI are designed primarily for military and law enforcement and are for more rugged than the average rifle but that doesn't detract from their lust potential. Great for long range shooting competitions though.

The only prices I could find online seem to be from 2007, perhaps they've gone up since then? https://www.sportingservices.co.uk/accuracy.asp

an amazing piece of engineering... lust away my firend.

My collection would expand dramatically if i had transport- in which case i would be able to get to ranges more often to be able to satisfy 'good reason'.

Is the offer still there for a visit and some range time?

Yes it is. You have a shotgun or firearms certificate don't you?

Nice grouping veg, but you seem to have missed the bull!

Where abouts are you based? I'm looking for a club or range near me, in Newbury. Anyone know of one? I do mainly pest control and vermine hunting, and stalking, and I have zero ranges at most of my permissions, but I like to try and avoid firing off lots of rounds at any of them, as most have livestock which while fine for a couple of shots, start to get a bit spooky after that. I would love to work up some loads for home loading!
