Maybe you could try inserting and removing now when you havn't got your period and then you'd have it down to a fine art by your next one?

ah but wouldn't it easier to insert and remove if you were in full flow as it were, due to the lubricating effect of the period?

Those that use them has it altered your actual period at all? I was reading the Natura Care website and there were testimonials from women who said the nature of their period had changed due to using things without chemicals/pesticides in them. So not as heavy, or painful or prolonged. This would be of interest to me as I suffer with all of the above! And reading the website made me wonder how much synthetic protection does to our bodies.

I've never used a mooncup but my periods seem easier since I've been using washable pads, I just attribute that to being more comfortable and therefore more relaxed.

When I'm on hoilday and I go back to disposables I find them icky; disposable pads seem to have a sort of subconscious association with unpleasant medical waste, therefore the period has connatations of being a "bad" thing.

Does that make sense to anyone but me ?

Much as I'd like to say yes, I can't in all honesty do so. I just find this method more convenient than anything else I have ever used.

Well, I've just ordered mine - just one question - how do you know when it needs emptying? - obviously over time you get an idea of the frequency you personally need, but for starting out, can you feel it? (Like that bubbling sensation you get with tampons)

Fot those of you that have leaks or difficulties, there is a whole load of FAQs on the mooncup webiste, that might help - like making sure the holes round the rim aren't blocked, for example (it suggests checking them with a pin)

You can't feel a thing - I often forget I'm wearing mine. You just need to be on the case with it - it's not much fun if your cup runneth over.
