Got such apaulling reviews I have never been tempted, shame the cast was quite good but apparently really didn't hit the mark

Trouble is, lots of great programmes get bad reviews and do take a while to get going, I prefer to decide for myself.

Me too. Heroes and FlashForward for example. They seem popular but I have a less favourable view

Visit the area sometime, you may form a different opinion.

Port Meirion is wonderful! Our favourite place for a weekend away. The cottages are so comfortable and the food in both hotels is first rate. In the evening the gates are shut to the public and you get the village to yourself. Just fantastic!

How much does it cost to rent a cottage there Mochyn? I've visited the place a couple of times but never yet considered staying there.

And is it more or less expensive if you're wearing a giant white bauble?

Gosh, I can't remember. The old chap usually does bookings! They do lots of special rates, though. Have a look https://www.portmeirion-village.com/

Really worth a visit.

After 5 of the 6 episodes I reckon it's pretty dreadful - takes itself far too seriously, has none of the daffy lunacy of the original and I've seen glaciers that move faster.

Oh, and like a pillock I looked at the Wiki page for it, so what little sense of mystery it did have has now been completely destroyed by knowing the ending

Cheers,
Rob.

I've been enjoying it. Sir Ian is quite good at genteel menace, and I'd say that compared to pants like Heroes or FlashForward it has moved along quite nicely in 5 parts.

Part 6 over the BH weekend. And I won't be looking at the Wiki page...

Yep, Heroes really lost the plot this series - from saving the world to stopping a funfair. Diminishing returns or what?

Cheers,
Rob.

Watched the first three episodes or so and gave up. It had the weird of the original with none of the cool.

They had a good opportunity to remake the original while removing the faults. Instead they have completely destroyed it. Terri likes it because she has never seen the original. The only good point so far was when No2 looked up in the bar to see the penny-farthing.

It's a strange village that needs buses and taxis - and why does noone wonder where the food comes from if there is nowhere else. In the original that was never an issue.

We only watched the first few, still have the rest recorded.

You'll be pleased to hear that Flash Forward has been cancelled after one series, Andrew

What about Doctor Who? This series is pretty bad methinks, it's back to bendy walls and poor storylines, have they had the budget cut?
