Yvette just had a look at the screen, over my shoulder. Saw your socks and said "ooh, they are beautiful.

Thanks, sfolati and yvette !

I only learnt to knit socks this spring, and they're not as difficult as I thought. So after the chunky winter hat, maybe......

Maybe I am now sanding and smoothing her olive wood knitting needles. They have turned out well, really well. Hopefully her knitting skills will develop over the winter months.
Those socks have inspired her.

That is indeed a splendid pair of socks. I love the cuff pattern - and the colour. What yarn did you use?

Thanks, judith ! I used Patons Diploma Gold DK (they also do it in 4-ply, and in aran weight), which is 55%wool, 45% nylon. Widely available; perfect for chunky boot socks. Wide range of colours. About £2.50 a 50g ball; two balls for a pair of boot socks.

The colour was 6228.

Lovely... I must learn to knit.. I'd love to make myself some chunky warm socks.

This was my latest project... I made it on a machine embroidery course at the local college

Your socks are lovely and look very cosy! I've yet to attempt socks, but maybe I should. The hand warmers look really nice too
