came home with these today, hen pheasant [road kill],potatoes and onions [gleaned] mushrooms [foraged],other ingredients will be flour,olive oil ,thyme, parsley ,white wine and seasoning,all in a casserole.

I wish people by here grew fields full of spuds & onions! That looks like a good supper.

lovely! Arent you good plucking your peasant, I tend to just peel roadkill and take off the legs and breasts leaving the messy bits inside

That is a feast indeed I still have to persuade Steve to eat roadkill. Perhaps If I show him that picture he'll change his mind

no sally i use the whole bird jointed after plucking.It was easy to pluck i did it in the field while it was still warm.It has a little graze on leg apart from that its very sound ,if they are mangled up they ok for doggie[oliver].

judith it'll be ready about 5 o 'clock ,and at the moment only ollie and me are on eating list,we live in suffolk ,so start you jelly chopper about hour before.

Without wishing to open a can of worms, is gleaning legal these days, or does it require landowners permission?

You need the landowners permission I believe. Bubble is lucky enough to have nice local landowners and I'm very jealous

Oh, I felt sure Bubble was entirely innocent, I was merely wondering.

Absolutely nothing to do with the crops near me, at all. (What would I do with a million tons of strawberries, apples, pears, hops, spuds and corn?)
