Put them in a bowl with a ripe banana. Mine didn't ripen very well though so I made green tomato sauce with them.

I've had loads of them this year as well, all over the apples which they have damaged a fair few and on my sweetcorn but so far no visible damage. Have no idea how to get rid of them.

Have you tried using Diatom? It seems to kill most parasites and after my hens had a dose (include with their food for a week) their poo looked a lot healthier.

It would be used mainly for making furniture but also woodturning (bowls etc.) and I think possibly bows for archery, I'm sure there's a lot of other uses for the wood.
