Salt or vinegar should work; permanent solution is to dig the roots out after the chickens have eaten the leaves etc.

I was looking at a tree of Black Worcesters yesterday and the fruit was much bigger than those, Jo.

Fruits will diminish in size over a long life time of a fruit tree.

As long as the temp of the contents of my bottles reaches 75 degrees, then I'm happy it's pasteurised. It's not the same as just processing in a water bath.

I paid £30 for my steam juicer. Pasteurisation/processing is done in a big old pan with a lid.

Yoke - that's a yoked cardi, can be found in sewing and knitting. Great design feature in knitting, a stripey yoke is a nice feature.

Brinsea here too - Brinsea Octagon Advance with autoturn cradle. Had great results from my first time last year. Shame the badger demolished a lot of my hard work, but will try again.
