Ooo, hurrah, it's back on the box. Must download it for watching later.

If I ask nicely, will they repeat it without the over-excited commentary?

Yeah, it'd be quite nice without all the melodrama.
Just the baking would be fine.

Don't tell me anything about tonight's please, as I like to guess who's going to win

I love it! Added to which it's followed by the classiest thing on TV, The Hour, a great nights viewing. It's not much fun not being able to discuss it herethough :0(. Can I suggest those that don't watch it live avoid the thread until they have? That way we can without fear of upsetting anyone.

Also enjoy the Baking thing - unlike OH who was incredulous that it's back this year!

(and Woodsprite, both he and I LOVE The Hour - best thing on TV at the mo)

I wonder how downsizers would get on on the Great BBO, as they are such cake makers....

I watched last night thinking ' I could do better than most of them' til the decorated celebration cake bit was shown. I make a great cake but can't decorate at all....

I have now got to make himself a proper battenburg

Likewise, I can make an OK cake.

Some of icing and decoration was amazing. How the heck do you get 12 cupcakes to look exactly the same?

Pastry next week, that'll osrt the men from the boys

Well maybe you should apply to be on the next series! I loved the ones with the pomegranate seeds, so pretty and I bet they tasted divine.
