If you open my doc, above there are some recipies for Herman there.

Cheers.

Though, if I'm pernickety, in the spreadsheet, cell C11, it does have 1tsp of baking powder. Do you not add that?

Part of this morning`s Woman`s Hour was about the spread of Herman.
Apparently, there is lots of Herman stuff on Mum`s net.

Does it?

I only make the fruit cake, and I pretty much chuck stuff in, and make it up. I copied the rest a couple of years ago from a friend!

I have a Herman in the oven with a whole jar of stem ginger, syrup and all, whizzed up and put in the mix. Will report back.

I forgot about it. When I opened the casket yesterday it smelled very unpleasant indeed.

I've split mine and started to reduce the sugar in one of them. I will also start adding wholegrain or similar flour and see if I can switch it to something not too sweet for bread. I'm not sure what's in a sourdough bread mix but it's worth trying this way.

The cakes have such a nice flavour when baked that I have run out of all dried fruit or any other suitable ingredient. I am forced to go shopping.
