i have never had bother with swans, avoid white clothes and be polite they will be quite charming they like grapes

I like grapes... but don't have them at this time of year because they are out of season... not buying them to feed to swans!

that was rather odd, needed a few different things for test image styles during printer maintenance i have a badly printed and very nice snap of mr brack2 the machine is in progress and will be fine, it can help to have a flat version for wildlife snaps

I should think they are! Lots of magpies here..but it's interesting that this year the starlings are ganging up on the magpies, so they are not getting things all their own way like last year

That's good to know Gz. Good picture Dpack. Pity about the metal thing in the foreground, but if you can crop the picture, or do something about it, should be a very good picture. Lots of bird song in the woods yesterday, including another thrush in our own bit hurling defiance at the thrush across the ride.

fullfat is rather fun but it was not a high res neg as it was iso 22000 and 1/640 in a fairly dark place(by dark i mean dark for low iso fast shutter)

the new photoshop beta has a few things i probably will never need

AI dehaze is wonderful and a huge leap forward, it can take a couple of zeros off the ISO in a minute or so

enough of technicals, stockdoves are as pretty as anything in a jungle or petshop

the twotone over a grey gradient with dazzle patterns is awesome

Was sitting out in the garden yesterday trying to sort out my knitting. I am trying to knit a pair of socks out of reclaimes navy blue wool, and dropped some stitches just at the shaping down the sides of the heel turning, and couldn't see well enough under artificial light, so wanted to sort it out outside. I was baking biscuits at the same time, but they are 30 min, cool bake, so time to sort out.

Anyway, reason it is this section is that we have a nest box wedged into the wisteria on the back of the house, and I was watching the bluetits going back and forth, presumably feeding the young. I had to move as they didn't seem happy with my chair backing onto them.

We watched one of the resident blackbirds demolishing a large slug....much wiping on the grass and then beak wiping! I leave closing the fruit cage for as long as possible....but the year I didn't net, the birds....mainly the blackbirds..peck and run merchants...got nearly all the crop

that is interesting, did it eat it or carry it off after rolling it on earth(or whatever)for a bit to make it easier to transport/use? i got the impression that mr brack used them as glue when fitting nest lining rather than as food

It looked as if it was eating it..not the first one we have seen. But nest glue is a good idea!

yesterday the hedge got a bit of a fettling, a slight nip and tuck to the bramble but a mirror imaging of the feed area and bathtub

it looks like it should work for snaps , they have adjusted happily and it should still be safe from ambush predation

and i get less thorns in my ears

doing it and only snipping a few stems, retaining the old stuff with critters in it and keeping the fruit buds is good

what should have been a half hour job took all day a bit at a time and today i feel like i was digging ditches rather than a bit of gardening

seems to have turned out ok, snaps when the birds fully settle, they seem happy bathing 2 meters away

next job is more shiny into that space to get better light for fast and deep and or fast and flight (and for the bigboys)
