personally the problem I can see with requesting donations for specific projects is what happens when you get more money than you need which you inevitably will

personally a slush fund with a descriptor of what you would like to do with it and regularly updates on how it is being spent seems more reasonable

Come on, who's pressed "what's mine is yours"?

I'd better tell the missus I'm not coming home...

I think we could always make it clear that excess would go into an emergency fund, and charitable donations would be made.

At the end of the day money is easy to get rid of. My idea was a monthly draw to award a book token to a random article author... that seemed to fly like a lead balloon when I suggested it to the mods

well ok tahir, but don't tell my husband

this site is brilliant and even though i've only been with you a few days i'd most definately donate to help keep the site going. i used to have my own site/forum and yahoo group (that's how it started) and it was soooooo much work and it was expensive too even when you use a lot of free web services so i completely understand and appreciate the effort involved, well done to everyone involved!

I would happily donate to specific projects I was intrested in but more than cash I would love to donate time and energy, so long as I could help someone and learn a bit I would happily turn up for a days work if anyone needed the help.
